Ohiopyle State Park Fishing

Fishing in Ohiopyle is one of the most popular activities in Ohiopyle. Fishermen come from all over to try and tempt that trophy trout onto the hook in our world-class trout waters. The Pennsylvania Fish & Boat Commission recently placed the Middle Yough as the second best trout river in all of Pennsylvania.

The most popular species of fish in the Yough River are various trout species, including Brown, Brook and Rainbow, and Smallmouth Bass. It is not uncommon to land a 20″ trout from the Yough.

The Yough has many undiscovered and off the beaten path fishing spots. The Yough will reward fishermen who dare to walk a little further and go where few other people go.

There is nothing better than a day on the river. Except, maybe, a day on the river with a fishing pole. The Middle Yough offers the avid fisherman a relaxing day of uninterrupted bliss. Rent a raft from White Water Adventurers, Inc. and we will transport you and your gear upstream to Confluence, PA, where you can float and fish your way back to Ohiopyle. Shuttles run daily at 8:00 am from Memorial Day to Labor Day. Arrangements can be made for transport earlier in the day or during the spring and fall.

Biking in Ohiopyle State Park

The seasons come to life along the converted railway beds of the Great Allegheny Passage, a 318-mile system of biking and hiking trails. There are no tall buildings to obscure your view or traffic noise to block out the sights and sounds of Mother Nature.

The riverside trails are relatively flat, (approximate 3% grade) which makes for easy pedaling for all ages and athletic abilities. The trails are marked every mile for your convenience.

We now offer e-bikes that allow bikers to pedal as little or as much as they want. These electric bikes can literally take the leg work out of a long ride on the GAP trail. With various speed settings, our ebikes are a fun option for anyone!

Ride as far as you like before returning to home base in Ohiopyle. Arrangements can be made to return bikes after hours for evening rides. We rent bikes of all sizes for all ages. We even have pull-along carts for the young ones.

When you are ready to take on a biking experience in Ohiopyle, make sure to stop by White Water Adventurers for your bike needs.
